Introduction
Geidy A. Achecar, a committed workers’ compensation lawyer at Utah Injury Law Center, exemplifies dedication and advocacy both in and out of the courtroom. Born to immigrant parents and raised in New York City, Geidy’s upbringing in a Spanish-speaking home has endowed her with a unique perspective and deep empathy, enabling her to connect with and advocate for her clients effectively.
Education and Early Career
Geidy earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah in 2003, followed by her Juris Doctorate from J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU in 2014. During her time in law school, she distinguished herself as the President of the Student Bar Association and was chosen as the graduation speaker. She also contributed to the BYU Education and Law Journal and gained significant experience clerking in the appellate division of the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Association. After passing the Utah Bar Exam, she honed her legal skills at a prominent Salt Lake law firm before joining the team at Fillmore Spencer.

Dedicated to serving her community, Geidy has been a vibrant advocate for the Latino community in Utah. Her roles have ranged from Co-executive Director of the Utah County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to a legal fellow for a Utah State Senator, where she has tirelessly worked to support and uplift Latino individuals and families. Additionally, Geidy utilizes her platform to inspire and empower young minority women, teaching them to overcome adversity and enact positive change.
